Hi Dustin, another noob answering you back! MDF is Medium-Density Fiberboard, an engineered wood product. It is made up of wood fibers that are combined with wax and resin, then put under tremendous heat and pressure. The resulting sheets are strong and uniform, and can be used like plywood (cut, drilled, sanded, fastened, etc). However, due to the nature of the materials used in its construction, you MUST use a respirator when sawing, sanding or otherwise creating dust from these sheets, as they normally contain formaldehyde and other VOCs that you really do not want to breathe inβ or leave lying around for others to inhale. I hope that helps!
