Hi I need sum help plz, if I have wood 1200mm x1200mm and I want to cut it in 300 x400mm sizes how many pieces will I get and plz show me how to work it out, thanks ozz

It would help to know what the kerf is on your saw blade or the saw blade thickness. I will assume its the standard 3.175mm or .125 in.

Ok, its a tough size to work with so you will have waste. But that might be a good thing if youre using a jigsaw. 1st cut is 400mm the entire length of the board. 2nd cut is same as the 1st. 3rd cut is 300mm the length of the board. Now take your 400mm pieces strips and cut every 300mm. You will only get (3) 400mm×300mm pieces from each for a total of 6. Then take your 300mm piece strip and cut every 400mm. This cut will give you 2 more usuable pieces. This yeilds 8 good pieces.
