Used latex/water based paint

Very helpful thank you. When i made my rustic clock the store told me i could only do that effect with chalk paint...which is expensive. Wait till i see those ladies at Hobby Lobby again!!!!

You can go a long way and much cheaper with leftover latex house paint. I need to work on my skills in distressing the finish. This was my first stab at it and feel i wore out some of the finish where i shouldn't have. The trick is to wear the paint by sanding where normal wear and tear would have naturally occurred with usage. Oh well, live and learn. Looks decent at the cottage.
